Explaining the wonders of the night sky.

Old page updates.

14th July 2009.

Re worded parts of the Astronomy page, and added star and DSO information for Auriga, as well as modifying/rectifying mistakes on the images for it.

10th July 2009.

Moved the Solar System and Constellation Guides to the Astronomy Page, along with a little new content on the Astronomy page, which is now the main page for astronomy related information. Future expansions include in depth pages on the Asteriod Belt, Kuiper Belt and the Oort Cloud, and hopefully information on the DSOs in Orion and Auriga. Also further into the future, information on the Planets, and more constellations.

6th July 2009.

Well doesn't time fly when your brain is turning to mush, The good news is I'm back, the bad news is I have neglected the site for a long time, sorry about that. I finally have some spare time to spend developing the website again now though, so here is hoping that I can start expanding the contents as I had wished many months ago. Removed the Collingwood Astronomy page due to a depressing lack of interest, and added a blog entry to let you all know what has been going on.

10 February 2009.

Started work on the more detailed page on Our Solar System. After that individual detailed pages for the planets are coming. Also check out this site, it is a program called celestia, a fantastic space simulation that is freeware.

2nd February 2009.

Hey everyone, been pecking away at lots of little things and achieved very little, so I am prioritising many varied parts I want to add to the site. Currently top of the list is detailed information for the individual planets and Sun, and improved/more detailed/updated star charts for the existing constellations. I'm also working on a power point on scales and sizes in astronomy and hemispherical projections of the constellations, the birth of the solar system, biographies on Johannes Kepler, Carl Sagan, Galileo Galilie and Sir Patrick Moore, information on Chandra, Hubble, Spitzer, Fermi and the Pioneer/Voyager sattelites/scopes/probes, guide to beginners telescopes, and a growing list of links I know you guys will love. Keeping you in the loop as always.

30th January 2009.

End of the month and I have not really delivered much to the site, so I apologise, not all my fault but mostly it is. I am still working on contents for the solar system page, as well as observing guides for Auriga and Orion and slightly tweaked graphics. On top of all that I am re-designing the sitemap, so expect some slight changes coming to how you navigate between pages. Thanks for your patience and clear skies.

26th January 2009.

Currently having a hard time getting any updates to save, currently trying to get the constellations for Auriga and Orion uploaded complete with star and DSO guides. The images for Auriga are up, along with links in the constellation guide page, but despite my best efforts today and yesterday Orion is still "under construction.

22nd January 2009.

The Solar System page now contains facts and figures for the eight planets Mercury through to Neptune.

20 January 2009.

My sincere congratulations to President Barack Obama on his inarguration today. Also, I have added some facts and figures for the Sun and Mercury on the Solar System page, as well as some general re-formatting of the page.

17th January 2009.

Many apologies for not updating the site recently, I have been busy on course and had a distinct lack of internet access in my cabin on base, all to be remedied tomorrow though as my modem arrives. I have been brainstroming for changes to the site, as well as content updates and additions, all going well tomorrow, I hope to at least double the amount of information available here by the end of the week. Added a short blog entry today. So keep your eyes peeled for fresh contents soon.

2nd January 2009.

I was looking forward to taking my first look at the moon but alas, the clouds have found me. On a better note, many thanks to Steve Parkinson owner of The Monthly Skyguide for letting me use his fantastic constellation maps as references for my own. Going to be a hectic week or so for me, but I intend to continue with my regular updates on the site and blog as soon as possible. Added a blog entry to ring in the new year and my plans and ambitions.
